Thanks to our dedicated Volunteers, our Thrift Shop is thriving
If you haven’t visited the Animal Advocates Thrift Shop lately or ever, you must stop by. The shop has undergone a facelift over the past three years thanks to grant funding and hard-working volunteers. Fresh paint, new flooring, and revamped displays – plus the creative contributions of volunteers – have transformed the shop into a bright, eclectic space.
A continuous influx of quality donations ensures a rotating selection of merchandise ranging from kitchen essentials to treasured collectibles. An online presence through eBay, PoshMark and Facebook Marketplace has increased our visibility and provided a marketing venue for high-end items.
If you are in the market for designer clothing and handbags, jewelry, furniture, or artwork, take a look at our online resale boutique. During November and December, all holiday-themed merchandise will be displayed in one room.
A Christmas tree decorated with unique ornaments – new, pre-owned and vintage – creates the centerpiece for an area festooned with decorations, ornaments, and framed vintage Christmas cards. This year, the contents of three houses were donated to Animal Advocates following the death of the owners.

The shop manager conducted furniture sales via online sites, then arranged for pick-up by or delivery to the buyer. A team of volunteers packed boxes, loaded a rental truck, and transported everything to the shop and a storage unit. Those items have been filling our store and online shelves ever since. If you or someone you know are downsizing, moving or need an estate sale organized, please call us.
On a smaller scale, we can peruse your attic, basement, garage or storage unit filled with possessions you’ve been meaning to re-home, but haven’t had time to sort through. Leave that task to our skilled volunteers and receive a tax deduction in return! And the next time you have bags and boxes of donations destined for a resale store, please drop them off at the Animal Advocates Thrift Shop.
100% of Thrift Shop revenue funds the medical treatment, food, and supplies for the cats and dogs in our care.
We accept collectables, decorations, ornaments, artwork, housewares, small appliances, kitchen and bath essentials, women’s clothing and accessories, jewelry, vintage items, antiques, and pet supplies. Donated goods must be new or gently used, unbroken, and clean.
All contributions are tax-deductible. Most notably, 100% of shop sale revenue funds medical treatment, food, and supplies for the cats and dogs in our care. Your purchase (every penny of it) and your donations (in-kind and monetary) directly benefit our rescued companion animals.
