Foster

If you can temporarily foster a cat or dog until a permanent home is found, you not only save a life, but increase the probability for a successful adoption. Fostering is especially suitable for families and students who are not sure if the can commit to the long term responsibility of owning a pet.

Cat Caretaker and Animal Transportation

For cats fostered at our headquarters, volunteers provide basic care and socialization as they await adoption. Volunteers are needed to provide a loving and clean environment for the cats. Hours are very flexible.

Volunteers are needed to transport animals to veterinarian appointments as well as transfer from other shelters, foster and/or adoptive homes.

Thrift Shop Sales

Animal Advocates resale boutique in the West End neighborhood of Pittsburgh provides the largest single source of revenue for the organization. Volunteers are needed to staff the shop, price merchandise and to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for our customers.

Fundraising and Outreach

We need “can do” volunteers who can plan, publicize and staff fundraisers, community outreach and advocacy programs.

We are open to support from individuals who want to help but are unable to commit to a scheduled volunteer position. We encourage individuals to hold supply and donation drives in honor of special occasions, with other community organizations or just because they love animals! Please email us at animaladvocatespgh294@gmail.com if interested in supporting Animal Advocates.
