Pet Tales: How sweet Nala saved her own life at a shelter

It took a veritable village of dogs lovers to save a pit bull mix named Nala. But the people who know her think Nala saved her own life.

Two years ago, when Nala was a 1-year-old, she was on an examination table in a West Virginia shelter. Next to her was an employee holding a syringe filled with the drugs that would end the dog’s life.
